 Local Power in Lusophone Africa: local autarchies, potentialities, pathologies and limitations

Abstract [En]: This article examines the issue of local government bodies in the constitutional law of Portuguese-speaking African countries. It highlights the reception of the Portuguese model in those countries, provides a comparative overview of the constitutional rules on the subject, and analyzes the positive aspects and the difficulties faced in the process of institutionalization of local authorities in each of the legal systems considered.

 

Titolo: Potere locale nell’Africa Lusofona: autarquie locali, potenzialità, patologie e limitazioni.

Abstract [It]: Questo articolo esamina il tema degli organi di potere locale nel diritto costituzionale dei paesi africani lusofoni. Esso evidenzia la ricezione del modello portoghese in quei paesi, delinea un quadro comparativo delle norme costituzionali in materia, e fa un bilancio sugli aspetti positivi e sulle difficoltà incontrate nel processo d'istituzionalizzazione degli enti locali in ciascuno degli ordinamenti giuridici considerati.
