 Vigilantibus, non dormientibus iura succurrunt, even in a sponsorship contract

No other maxim, than the one just cited in the title, could (probably) be more suitable to describe the story of the case which involved, on one hand, an Italian company, entered into a sponsorship contract with a Spanish management company of a professional cycling team, on the other. In an Italian-language decision (n. 4A_609/2014, dated February 20, 2015), the Swiss Supreme Court considered whether a petition to challenge an award should be dismissed on the basis that it had not been filed in time. To get a closer idea of the case upon which the Swiss Federal Court has pronounced, we need to pass over the facts briefly... (segue)
